The SOI Post Harvest Group created in 1994 celebrates its 31st anniversary with a joint meeting with SECH Postharvest and Industry group in order to foster the international cooperation between scientists of both Countries devoted to postharvest science and technology

Conference Overview

This symposium will focus on cutting-edge advancements and technologies in the postharvest sector of horticulture, covering a wide range of critical topics:

  • Advanced Postharvest Precision Technologies and AI: Exploring the latest advancements in artificial intelligence and precision technologies tailored for the postharvest management of horticultural products and ornamentals.
  • Preharvest Management, Postharvest Ripening, Quality Evaluation, and Preservation: Discussing strategies for management before and after harvest, including innovative techniques for assessing and enhancing the quality and preservation of produce.
  • Postharvest Biochemistry and Physiology of Fruits, Vegetables, and Ornamentals: A deep dive into the biochemical and physiological changes that occur in horticultural products postharvest and their implications for quality and shelf life.
  • Safety and Sustainability in Postharvest Management: Addressing the crucial aspects of safety and sustainability practices in the postharvest phase, ensuring that horticultural products are safe and produced via environmentally responsible methods.
  • Minimal Processing and Innovative Packaging: Exploring new trends and technologies in minimal processing approaches and the development of innovative packaging solutions that extend shelf life and reduce environmental impact.
  • Biotic and Abiotic Factors Affecting Shelf Life: Investigating the various biotic and abiotic factors that influence the shelf life of horticultural products and flowers, including how to manage these factors to maintain quality.

Why Attend?

The 9th Symposium on Postharvest Science offers a unique opportunity for researchers, academics, industry professionals, and students involved in horticulture to gather and share their insights, research findings, and innovations. Attendees will benefit from networking opportunities, engaging discussions, and the exchange of ideas that foster scientific and technological advancements in the field of postharvest science.
